Who has access to the diet data?
The diet data is recorded and saved on our secure servers. Only the dietitian and their patient can login to see the data.
Do I pay for each text message I send?
Normal cell phone carrier text message rates apply. If you have an unlimited plan than all of your HealthTexts are included in that plan. If you have a set limit of 500 text per month or something similar then your HealthTexts are included in that number.
Does the patient enter the amount of food they eat?
HealthText is based on a single serving per food item entered. We are considering adding a feature that will allow patients to enter the amounts for each item. This feature will be added based on feedback from dietitians and patients. You can give us feedback using this form.

Who pays for HealthText?
The monthly fee for HealthText is $10. Dietitians recommend HealthText to their patients and include this fee in their normal billing process. The dietitian then sends the fee to HealthText to enroll the patient.
Does HealthText provide alternative food choices?
The current version of HealthText does not provide direct feedback to the patient. We recommend that all patients speak with their dietitian about healthy food choices.
Where does HealthText get the nutritional information?
HealthText uses the most up to date nutritional database from the National Institutes of Health.
